Apprenticeship Training Provision and the Apprenticeship Levy

New Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP)

The Skills Funding Agency has introduced a new Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP) for any organisation wishing to deliver apprenticeships from May 2017. The register application process will open for applications approximately four times a year. More detail about the register can be found on the government webpages and via their webinar home pages

To assist with preparatory work for organisations considering applying to be on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers, the EEIAS has produced a set of information slides with the links to the published documents, links to the official application e-tendering portal, and a summary of the questions that are asked. An overarching introductory webinar to the Register has also been produced which can be viewed here.

The Apprenticeship Levy

This webpage provides a summary of key Levy announcements. More detailed information can be found on the Levy webpages of Energy & Utility Skills.

On 9 December 2016 the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) created a new narrated presentation to explain the main features of the digital apprenticeship service. The video is aimed at levying-paying employers, and outlines the employer journey from the account home screen and registration to the funding and apprentice management sections.  It shows screenshots taken from the prototype system (please note these are still in development and may be changed before the service is fully live in May 2017). You can view the presentation on the Skills Funding Agency YouTube channel.

On 25 October 2016 the Skills Funding Agency released more information on the operation of the Levy.  For further details please click here.

On 19 September 2016 HRMC released a technical consultation seeking comments on the first set of draft regulations for the Apprenticeship Levy. Responses are due by 14 November 2016. For more information please click here.
